...FIRST COLD WINTER STORM POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
THURSDAY NIGHT...

.A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL SWEEP SNOWFALL TO THE
MOUNTAINS, MUCH COLDER AIR, AND EVEN SOME VALLEY SNOW INTO THE
AREA BEGINNING WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUING THROUGH THURSDAY
NIGHT. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR 5 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW
ACCUMULATION IN THE HIGH MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO AND UTAH, 1 TO 4
INCHES IN THE COLORADO NORTHWEST PLATEAU, AND 2 TO 5 INCHES ACROSS
THE HIGHER PLATEAU. SOME SNOWFALL IS POSSIBLE IN THE LOWER VALLEYS
OF CENTRAL COLORADO, WITH LIGHT AND LOCALIZED ACCUMULATIONS
POSSIBLE IN THE UPPER COLORADO RIVER VALLEY.

* TIMING...SNOWFALL WILL BEGIN AFTER MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND
  INCREASE THROUGH THURSDAY. SNOWFALL BE START DECREASING THURSDAY
  EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...IN THE MOUNTAINS: 5 TO 10 INCHES WITH UP TO
  A FOOT AT THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS. IN THE PLATEAUS FROM 2 TO 5
  INCHES.

* SNOW LEVEL...WILL LOWER TO BELOW THE LOWER ELEVATION VALLEYS BY
  THURSDAY MORNING.

* WINDS...GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS TO 30 MPH WILL SHIFT TO THE
  NORTHWEST THURSDAY.

* VISIBILITY...MAY LOWER TO LESS THAN ONE MILE AT TIMES,
  ESPECIALLY OVER THE HIGH MOUNTAIN VALLEYS LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT
  AND THURSDAY.

* IMPACTS...ROADS OVER THE MOUNTAIN PASSES AND ACROSS THE COLORADO
  NORTHWEST PLATEAU MAY SEE A FEW TO SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW
  ACCUMULATION LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY. COMBINED WITH
  GUSTY WINDS A LOCAL BLOWING SNOW THIS COULD PRODUCE HAZARDOUS
  DRIVING CONDITIONS.
