Just because you are in the snow country of Steamboat Springs, Colorado does not mean you cannot enjoy some exciting March holidays. This spring make sure you enjoy a Colorado Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day, and Earth Hour during your Steamboat getaway. Here is how to celebrate them here in town:
Colorado Mardi Gras
The locals sure know how to party it up during Mardi Gras with an all-day event taking place on March 2nd. You and your family can enjoy a full day’s worth of live music, parades, a Cajun crawfish boil, street performers, and face painters. Not many Mardi Gras events are known for being all-ages, but Steamboat makes sure the kids can join in on the fun as well. Mardi Gras-themed food will be available to keep you full and energized to continue throughout this exciting day. The Steamboat Mardi Gras celebration is free to attend from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm starting at the Steamboat Ski Resort.
St. Patrick’s Day
We recommend all of our adult travelers enjoy their St. Patrick’s Day with some luck from the Irish. Local Irish pubs O’Neil’s Tavern and Grill and McKnight’s Irish Pub offer all of your favorite green beer and car bombs during this Steamboat Springs event. Traditional Irish food will be created at each establishment’s event being held all day. McKnight’s even features rugby on the big screen and a block party starting at noon. A children-friendly event will take place at Steamboat Kids Play Garden, where the whole family can enjoy games, arts, and crafts. Finally, the St. Patrick’s Day Torchlight Parade and Fireworks event will close off the night with a dazzling display of fireworks in the sky. This all-ages event starts at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area at 8:00 pm sharp.
Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series
Every Saturday gather your friends and family and spend the day listening to great music with great people in Gondola Square at the Annual Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series. Each year music artists from all genre gather in March to put on some of the best concerts the area sees. Join in on the fun every Saturday beginning at 3:30 pm.
Earth Hour is a dedicated hour on March 30th from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm where the world is encouraged to shut off all the lights. Each year in Steamboat the Youth Green Team Summit meets to discuss important events of the world related to this time period.
