Free Ski Tours – These free ski tours are offered daily from December-March by the Ambassador staff of Steamboat Springs. These particular ski tours do require a least an intermediate level of skiing expertise. To take part in the free ski tours, simply meet at the top of Vagabond ski trail where Ambassadors dressed in bright yellow jackets await.

 

Ski Nature Tours – This is an interpretative tour lead by a naturalist from Yampatika Educational Partnership. You’ll get to learn about the mountains, forest and the terrain of Steamboat Springs. Tours are conducted December-March, and a gondola ticket is required.

 

Steamboat Mountain Masters – This is a free, guide-led tour for those 50 and older. This daily tour takes participants through black and blue trails throughout Steamboat. Reservations are required, and the tour departs at the top of the gondola.

 

Snowshoe Tours

If you are not much of a skier or prefer to take a break from the slopes, snowshoes tours are a great alternative. They offer an interesting way to learn more about the area on foot while enjoying the snowy terrain. The following are some snowshoe tour options.

 

Snowshoe Tours – Steamboat Ambassadors offer daily snowshoe tours from December-March that depart from Steamboat Ski & Sport in Gondola Square. You can rent snowshoes if necessary.

 

Moonlit Snowshoe Tour & Dinner – Experience the snow-covered peaks and valleys of Steamboat Springs under the moon and stars. This hour-long tour operates Friday-Saturday. After you’ve finished your nighttime snowshoeing, you’ll enjoy dinner at the local restaurant Hazie’s.

 

Guided Gourmet Snowshoe Tours – These snowshoe tours take you on a tour of the snow-covered mountains and trails with the assistance of an informative guide. After snowshoeing, enjoy gourmet lunch at Hazie’s.
