The best vacations can happen at any time, but for some reason, it’s during the holidays that we often have the most fun. Maybe it’s because we are in a celebratory mood, maybe it’s the extra days off, or maybe, in the case of the biggies, it’s knowing we won’t have to cook, clean, and spend a LOT of time shopping! Whatever your reason for traveling on any of the holidays, there’s never a bad time to visit Steamboat Springs, but there ARE some times when your vacation experience can exceed even your highest expectations. Here are some reasons to convince you to enjoy Steamboat Springs holidays!

It’s Raining Eggs!

The Easter holiday is almost as exciting to the younger set as Christmas, what with the candy, the egg hunts, the candy, and the delicious food, oh and did we mention candy? And while anyone can hop along and hide some eggs for the kids to find, the Steamboat Christian Center has been hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza for over 10 years—and dropping a couple of thousand eggs from a helicopter flying overhead! This free celebration is open to anyone who wants to attend and takes place at the Steamboat Springs Middle School. A great time is guaranteed to be had by all!

Magical and Memorable Memorial Day Weekend in Steamboat Springs

Memorial Day Weekend in Steamboat Springs is the traditional sign that summer has arrived, and while you may have thought of us as primarily a ski town, the memories you can make over Memorial Day Weekend will be just as magical! The mountain opens again at the end of May, this time for summer adventures; the Steamboat Zipline Adventures and the Mountain Coaster are the two most popular attractions that you just need to check out! Proving that we don’t need snow to have a fantastic time, the views from the zipline will take your breath away and the speed of the mountain coaster will keep the smile on your face long after the ride has concluded.

Finding Fun on the Fourth

We love 4th of July so much we extend the celebration to the 5th and 6th because one day is never enough! Starting out with a pancake breakfast at 7AM on the 4th, followed by a roller ski competition, an Independence Day Parade and a Pioneer Block Party, we end the day with a fireworks and laser show. On the 5th and 6th our Pro Rodeo series shows off the skills of some really talented cowboys and on the last day, a farmers’ market and ski jumping competition rounds out this long weekend of patriotic wonderfulness!
