Celebrate the end of the current winter season with Steamboat Springs! Springalicious is a multi-week festival that includes a host of festivities and fun events such as the Cardboard Classic, the Pond Skim and lots of live entertainment. While the winter season may be ending, Springalicious is a reminder that there is still lots of fun to be had with the incoming Spring season. Here are some of the popular events at the annual Springalicious Festival:
The Cardboard Classic
The Cardboard Classic is one of the main events at the Springalicious Festival. This is a wacky event that asks participants to get in touch with their creative side. Participants make their own cardboard creations using string, glue, tape and an assortment of decorations to create a vehicle of sorts that helps them to race down the Stampede towards the finish line. This race is open to adults 18 and older as well as children and teens 17 and under.
Splashdown Pond Skim
The Splashdown Pond Skimming Championships is the Closing Day event. Be prepared to walk on the wide side and do things that will have others shaking their head at you in a good way! The goal of this event is cross an icy pond dressed in a ridiculous looking outfit. For those that enjoy an athletic challenge and don’t mind laughing at themselves, this event is for you.
If you want to enjoy the Springalicious Festival to the fullest, consider purchasing an Ikon Pass. With this pass, you’ll have access to a number of perks that include the ability to ski for three days straight from April 1 through April 12 at Steamboat Resort throughout the Springalicious Festival. Pay a flat rate of $159, and you’ll enjoy all the things that make the Steamboat Resort a fun play to be.
Bring in the warm weather and budding trees of Spring with the annual Steamboat Springalicious Festival. At this festival both the locals and the visitors enjoy celebrating the end of the winter season and beginning of spring with fun and joy.
