Steamboat Marathon Half and 10K

October 1 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

This year marks the 38th annual Steamboat Marathon Half and 10K. This marathon has earned its position as one of the best marathons in the state of Colorado as well as one of the top 10 destination marathons in North America, and for good reason. Marathon participants are graced with one of the most breathtaking, scenic trails with a backdrop of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the Elk River, and the expansive green fields alongside Country Road 129.

Marathon and Half Marathon

The annual Steamboat Marathon and Half Marathon both finish at the courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs. Participants of either marathon are picked up at 8th and Oak Street in downtown Steamboat Springs. The full marathon starts at Hahns Peak Village while the half marathon begins at Moon Hill. Entry and deadline requirements are as follows:

Entry Limit: Marathon – 500 participants, Half Marathon – 1200 participants

Entry Deadline: 5 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020

Race Date: Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 7:30 a.m.

If you are interested in participating in the full or half marathon or the 10K, the applicable fees are as follows:

$70 – $90 for the half marathon

$80 – $100 for the full marathon

$40 – $50 for the 10K

10K Run and Walk

The 10K Run and Walk gives you an opportunity to compete in this event at a pace that is most suitable for you. The 10K starts on 5th Street and ends at the courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs. There are no participant entry limits. However, those choosing to participate must enter by Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

Race Date: Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 7:30 a.m.

The Honey Stinger Fun Run

The Fun Run is a chance for young runners five and older to get in on the marathon spirit. Starting and finishing at the Steamboat Springs Courthouse, this is a half mile, paved-road race where everyone wins a prize for participation. Registration is free.

Race Date: June 7, 2020 at 11:45 a.m.

Entry Limit: 200 participants

Old Town Hot Springs

After a day of running or walking in the marathon or 10k, treat your body to some relaxation and regeneration at the Old Town Hot Springs. Conveniently located and accommodating to everyone, these hot springs boast two waterslides, hot spring-fed pools, a fitness center, and both a kids-only and adults-only area.

Yampa River Botanic Park

Before or after the marathon, take a visit to the Yampa River Botanic Park which is known for being a “place of serenity” for both locals and visitors alike. With free admission and plenty of seating for lounging and taking in the beauty of the trees, flowers and shrubbery, this is a great place to visit while in Steamboat Springs.
